Kumquat is led by a team of pioneers with decades of success in developing cutting-edge cancer therapeutics, including the first treatment to successfully demonstrate targeting a KRAS oncoprotein once considered undruggable. Now, in their fourth venture, the team is expanding and creating an innovation hub at Kumquat, where interdisciplinary experts collaborate to advance new cancer treatments with superior therapeutic outlook compared to current treatments.
The Inspiration Behind Our Name
The kumquat is revered across many cultures for its vitality-boosting nutrients. It symbolizes longevity, prosperity, and good fortune. In Asian cultures, the kumquat is displayed in homes and exchanged as a gift during the Lunar New Year celebration to welcome the beginning of spring and the new life it brings. In ancient societies, it was commonly used in traditional medicines.
The kumquat is our source of inspiration. When we founded the company, we sought a name that embodied the vibrant energy and unity of our founding members, who have been working together for more than fifteen years. The kumquat’s golden hue symbolizes the warmth and hope we aim to bring to our patients, reassuring them that we’re dedicated to making a meaningful difference in their lives.
